To break away from the usual workday hustle, we recently transformed parts of our coworking spaces at KL Eco City and KL Sentral into a mini soap making studio, filling the air with hints of rose, lavender, and orange. It was a relaxed, hands-on session where members could drop by, get creative, and walk away with their own handmade soap bars. Easy to pick up and surprisingly calming, it was a fun way for our coworking community to reconnect with their senses midweek.
Soap-Making, Step by Step: Calm, Colour & Custom Creations
The soap making session was guided every step of the way by our friendly instructors, who helped with microwaving the soap base, adding colours and scents, making the process easy and enjoyable. Each participant chose a soap base poured into cupcake cups, deciding whether to create one simple layer or several, chilling briefly between each. Once the bases were set, the real magic began as everyone decorated their soaps with dried flowers, shapes, and other decorative elements.
Strengthening Our Coworking Community Through Creativity
The instructor also brought smaller soap pieces that looked so much like gummy bears, we had to be reminded again and again that they weren’t edible, sparking plenty of smiles and lively chatter. The floral-themed workshop included mini soap moulds shaped like animals and charms for those wanting a personal touch. We had dried flowers and herbs to sprinkle on, from cinnamon sticks to rose and chrysanthemum buds. Some designs stayed neat and elegant, like miniature cakes, while others mixed and matched elements freely, creating unique little works of art.
Creating Shared Moments in Shared Spaces
Events like these are just one of the many ways we build a vibrant, welcoming community at our coworking spaces. Whether you’re here to focus on work or take a creative break, there’s always something happening to inspire connection and creativity.
